I haven't checked in for quite awhile. I moved to Florida over a year ago & love it here.
I get a company provided vehicle with my current job and my driving mileage on the EXPY had dropped off.
I'm approaching 70,000 miles on it. I bought it used from a rental or commercial owner...
Over the weekend I got to choose an Infiniti Q50 3.0T. Thank you National Emerald Isle when I paid for a chevy malibu rate.
I picked it as it was a sports car I would never buy or likely have a chance to drive.
It was fun. I did notice significant turbo lag with it. It would go quickly then...
It may be just the local dealer but there is nothing like getting a 10% off service coupon via email that allows you to setup an appointment for service with the coupon attached. It's a great idea.
Well I show up to my appointment yesterday for the works (oil/filter/tire rotation, fluids..)...
Turbos are here to stay. At least until full electric replaces everything.
I just finished watching Fastest Car season 2 on Netflix. It is a fun show if you like seeing self/garage built sleeper vehicles race a supercar in a 1/4 mile. There are 6 races with 4 participants, 3 sleepers vs 1...
So it begins. Sorry if the pics don't come out well. It rained last night & I keep my Expy washed so it is really reflective and I'm standing on a tree protection barrier with gravel on it. nyway I knew it was coming but still am disappointed with paint peeling of a 2 year old $55k plus MSRP...
Is it normal for Ford's restructuring? Does this mean poorer service, trying to get you to pay for unneeded services and denied warranty claims at the dealership? Lower quality due to cost cutting measures?
...OR...a good time to purchase Ford stock because they will rebound...
I found this article quite interesting. It is a report of the top 10 vehicles owners keep the longest. Of course the Expedition in in it. What do you think? I'm not surprised at the others as I've owned 3 of them and they really are trouble free over the long haul.
5. Ford Expedition...
I heard this on the radio this morning and the only online source I could grab an article from was MSN.com so put your political spin filter on if your read it. (for example the writer thinks: threatening to add to the cost of filling up a Mercedes or Lamborghini...only rich folks driving...
I just found this interesting. Basically it is price as they sell the older model alongside the redesigned one plus are lowering price via incentive. Yet can still make a profit as Trucks and SUVs are huge profit margin vehicles.
In another article most car/truck/suv sales are down. Could it...
Worried about Ecoboost longevity? Heres a 2.7L EB F-150 w/200,000 miles (I just saw this thread this morning)
https://www.f150forum.com/f118/reached-200k-miles-my-2-7eco-410389/index4/
Here is a 3.5L EB F-150 with over 300,000 miles...
...a 2019 Ford Expedition Max Limited as a rental. I got "rear ended" a couple of weeks ago and it took this long for the other driver's insurance to set up repairs and a rental. Basically it was on the interstate going through a construction zone with stop & go traffic. Traffic stopped, I...
As much as I hate state inspections of vehicles especially a newer one, this one was actually beneficial. I also wanted to alert you to check yours.
My rear passenger side stabilizer bar failed. I have no idea how or why. I haven't even noticed any handling differences. Easy fix but the...
I've got 53,000 or so on my 2017 XLT EL that I bought used with 29,000 miles on it. The Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude HTs have good tread on them still. I really thought the OEM tires must have been replaced before I bought it.
I started looking at replacements just in case these were the...
GM Banks $17,000 Profit Per Pickup On Average....Wow! Think F-150s, Expeditions & Navigators are this profitable? No wonder truck/suv prices have gone up so fast.
http://gmauthority.com/blog/2018/08/gm-banks-17000-profit-per-pickup-on-average/
I have a 17 XLT expedition that was either a fleet or rental. It's been good. I knew what was in it when i bought it. No complaints but do find this amusing:
Today at a stop light waiting to turn left. There are 2 econo cars in front of me. A mazda 3 and a 4 door scion both have turn...
This article is from 2011. If it has already been posted, please delete. I read it for the 1st time and was impressed with the testing. I still would purchase the Ford Extended Warranty however, just because of the extra moving parts, sensors and cpus required for this engine...
I saw this in the same article with the F150 transmission issue:
https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/2019/02/13/ford-f-150-pickup-recall-accidents/2857572002/
Mustang, Nautilus, Navigator
Some 2019 Ford Mustang, Lincoln Nautilus and Lincoln Navigators may have instrument panels with...
Has anyone replaced the entire headlight, housing and all? This is for a 2017 XLT. Some highway debris hit the light and broke the top housing bracket bar and left a hole in the lower right (facing the light). It still works.
In the $400-$500 range just for a replacement housing. Is there a...

I realize those that require the huge amount of space and upper limit towing will still buy the Expedtion but what about those that really didn't need that much truck?
My new job has me driving my own vehicle for business with reimbursement and I was thinking of adding either a small new cheap car or used prius to offset the mileage I'm racking up. Started doing some research on what would be long lasting cheap cars and found this article. I guess I shouldn't...

I did a search but did not find this posted. Here's a car guy showing a rather easy way to clean intake valves on a GDI (only, as opposed the new version of turbo motor with gas injection added to clean the intake valves). He's even doing it on a Ford.
