Yeah, this is really what I meant. I know how to cycle the gauges but really those are just "middle is in operational range" and not actuals. Would love if that was accompanied by the actual temps below the gauge, kind of like the DTE under the fuel gauge
Welcome! I have the exact same garage as you now. Sync4A convergence is coming. I’ve already gotten the “coming soon” email we got on our Mach-E’s earlier this year.
I'm getting FormulaOne Stratos put on my side windows and AirBlue 80 on my sunroof next week. Unfortunately Tint is tested in NC at every annual inspection so I can't do the windshield without a medical waiver. The Mach-E has an IRR blocking windshield and it's an absolute game changer. I'm...
Wireless CarPlay while Wireless charging is a recipe for my phone to turn into hot molten lava. CarPlay projecting while streaming podcasts and using Waze puts my phone into surface of the sun hot territory (iPhone 13 Pro Max, no case).
It's fine for short commutes and hops around town but for...
Certain states have exceptions for getting windshields lightly tinted for eyesight purposes. I'm absolutely doing ceramic all the way around, minus windshield (don't have an exception).
I noticed when pulling into my driveway, if auto-up is in process when I hit the upslope (very steep) of my driveway the windows stop moving. Not sure what sensor it's tripping but if it happens I have to to the reset procedure to get auto-up/down back.
Now I just roll up the windows when I...
Next time you hear it click the Nav tab as soon as you do. You'll see a box with a predicted time delay and section of upcoming road highlighted yellow or red.
I believe this is the Nav chime letting you know there's traffic ahead. Despite you not using in car Nav, the car "learns" routes you frequent and time of day. I finally figured this out in my Mach-E and have had it happen in the Expedition as well.
Even if you're not using the nav, sometimes...
It's coming! The redesign that Mach-E got late Fall/early this year is heading to our Expeditions. Here's the email I got today.
Here's the link that the "See What's coming" button leads to: https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos/sync/sync-updates/sync-4-updates/
That's one way to wake up in the morning. I had to shuffle our cars for the week ahead and got in our Expedition after it sat since Friday. I started the car, the 4A screen started up as normal, but instead of the radio or CarPlay coming on I heard a couple very loud POP POP POP noises before...
Not easily...
It's listed in the Software Update tab of the settings section of Sync4A when it's downloaded but not yet installed (but doesn't persist beyond install). Once installed you just get the generic no updates/you're on the latest software screen.
On first start after an install is...
Yes, that's part of the big Sync software 4.x.x update. I believe most of us are on 3.5.2, but I've been getting a lot of smaller updates recently that appear to be getting the Expedition ready for the proverbial big one. I've been documenting my update cadence here.

Came here to also say that the system has grown on me. We have a Mach-E and it took awhile to learn how it works, but once we did it became second nature. We're a CarPlay family, and mostly have HVAC set to Auto-2, so most of our screen interaction is with Apple's UI instead of the Sync AI...
Another update over the weekend! This one isn't a version update, instead labeled: Priority Update 22-PU1010-SFT-QL
"A minor change so your vehicle can easily install the more intricate updates coming in the future. Ongoing updates like this help ensure that you'll always be driving the best...
Update: My Expedition got updated to 3.5.4 on Saturday.
"Minor updates here and there. Just small stuff to keep everything running smoothly. Ongoing updates like this help you enjoy the best possible version of your Ford Expedition. Enjoy."
On the Mach-E, this was a TCU (Telematics Control...
If you’re even remotely considering it I’d go test drive it and make sure you turn the steering wheel full lock in each direction. To me, it sure looks like you’d get significant interference at full lock as well as with the suspension fully compressed.
With the 10spd transmission going down a gear is essentially like going down one-half gear in a "normal" 5 or 6 speed auto. How many gears are you downshifting when you say you get virtually no engine braking?
I'm running into the same issue with our 22 Timberline. I bought a 100W multi-USB GaN charger to keep in the back of our Expedition and every time I plug it in (with nothing plugged into the charger itself) I get the flashing green dot.
It's really frustrating that to reset it you have to do a...
