    Transmission fluid change interval

On the topic of changing transmission fluid...I bought my 97 Eddie Bauer Expedition in 2000 with 63000 miles on it. Not knowing it's previous history I immediately had both the engine and transmission fluids flushed. Thereafter, followed recommend fluid maintenance. At 320000 miles I had to...

    Load Range E tire pressure

Retired tire engineer here. The tire maker has their min-max tire pressure based on the engineering specs of the tire design. The auto maker has their recommended tire pressure, usually on a label in the driver door frame, based on desired auto performance and safety in auto load range specs. I...

2019 XLT: 3rd Row Power Fold Not Working - Driver Side

Once a month I run the FORScan utility to check for errors. Last Feb when I ran it, it gave me a Code B13B - Right Entry Output showing a fault possibly a circuit short or an open circuit to the Power Fold Seat Module. I took my vehicle (2019 MAX XLT) to the Ford Dealership. They found a damage...

    70mph + vibration

When I bought my 2019 Expedition MAX XLT it was fitted with Cooper tires with a reasonable amount of tread left. However, when approaching 70 miles per hour a harmonic vibration ramps up over a 6 second period then gradually fade out over the next 6 seconds. Smooth riding for another 6 seconds...

2021 Rear wiper washer fluid leak on front passenger floor board

Oddly enough, I had this problem on my 97 Eddie Bauer Expedition. Behind the passenger foot well kick plate on the right side is a hose connection for the rear window washing fluid. The pressure the washer pump puts into the hose causes the hose to disconnect.

    ALLA LED headlights issue

Driving at night I frequently come upon an oncoming vehicle with lights so bright I literally cannot see the road in front of me. I would like to share the experience back. So, I'm now looking for replacement lights for my Expedition. What I'm looking for is a pair of lights that folks for at...

2020 odd issues. Possibly bad battery?

Had this happen to me this past December. Having read the volumous owner manuals, it does say the the auto stop will quit working and various sub-systems will start to shut down as the voltage from the battery diminishes. For example, the rear door bumper sensor for hands free rear door open...

    Am I being paranoid?

VIN report is clean only one previous owner. I don't even think the previous owner had any family because the interior has no wear. The two 2nd row window seats, which are supposed to tilt and slide forward to open up access to the third row were stuck from non-use. After a little effort they...

2019 XLT Max - Antifreeze leak

Noticed a 3-inch circle of antifreeze on the floor of the garage right below where the rear hinge of the lower passenger side suspension A frame attaches to the body frame. After trying without success to locate the leak, I decide to take it to my local Ford dealership. Turns out a heater hose...

row of red LEDs on dash in front of driver

I do wish there was a way of turning it off...I already have a collision warning system called WIFE. Which has a BAR sensitivity level. I can't turn that one off either.

What the heck, I replaced a part and bricked the Expedition

I'm an idiot... I decided to revisit the panel connections to make sure they were all securely connected. As I was doing so...hello what is this connector and where does it connect to? Could not see a corresponding connection receptacle for the orphaned plug. Went back and looked at the...

What the heck, I replaced a part and bricked the Expedition

The "poka yoke" connections appear to be the same but went ahead and swapped them just to see if there was any change, and there was not. Did disconnect the battery before replacing the panel. Battery was disconnected for the 15 minutes it took to swap panels. Replaced the original panel to no...

What the heck, I replaced a part and bricked the Expedition

Thanks for responding. There are two connections to the underside of where the fob is placed. Both wire connections 'Y' into a single plug. I don't know if it matters if the two connections are swapped. But the new panel had the two separate wire connectors already connected to the underside of...

What the heck, I replaced a part and bricked the Expedition

So today I got the two parts I ordered to make my new used Expedition right again. The rear tow hitch cover which simply snapped on in place. But the other part was a replacement for the center console panel, which was badly scratched up and the chrome around the bezel trim was peeling off...

Just bought my second Expedition, 2019 XLT Max

My new ride, a used 2019 Expedition XLT Max with 80k miles on it. It is literally in immaculate condition with only four issues. A cracked windshield which CarMax is going to replace under their warrantee. A missing tow hitch cover and the center console panel is in bad shape. Waiting for both...
