My temp gauge isn't working and throwing the p1289 so bought the sensor and saw a vid of how to change it without taking the intake off and just removing the alt using a 19mm long swivel wrench. Nice trick and works fine enough but after popping the plug off the sensor I noticed it was connected to anything. The wires are cut....... I've looked and looked and can't find the other end to connect it back together. Anyone have any ideas without taking the whole intake and fuel rails off???

This job really isn't that bad. Heck, I did the CHT on my '07 in the parking lot of Circus Circus Casino this past July when my CHT crapped out while I was on a family road trip. I removed the air intake tubing, the alternator, the fuel rail, and the intake manifold. Turns out that the last person to work on the intake manifold pinched the wiring for the CHT between the manifold and the head. Over 100,000+ additional miles, the insulation on the wiring eventually melted enough to short out. I needed to but a new pigtail and intake gasket, but I also opted to install a new CHT sensor, too. The pigtail for the CHT is only about 8 inches long and connects to the wiring loom running between the firewall and the heads.
