2009 Expedition EL 5.4 wont crank and cant shift out of park

Parked my 2009 expedition last night and today went to start and it will not crank. All dash lights, warning lights, radio, inside and outside lights all work. It will not shift from park so I am unable to try to start in neutral. It's like it doesn't know it's in park? It is a console shifter and doesn't appear to be sloppy. Steering column mot locked up. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try and shake the ignition key in the cylinder when you turn it over. Very common for the switch to get faulty at this age.
