Where is it physically located? I also can't find the canister either. I am having evap issues and this is one of the things I need to replace.

Thank you!

I've looked under the back by the fueling hose and do see three hoses coming from the filler leading down to the tank but one hose has a plastic connector on it, near the fill port, that is not connected to anything. Ideas?

The canister is above the spare tire. That disconnect hose is just a vent hose, leave it alone.
The canister purge solenoid is up under the hood near the brake master cylinder.

What kind of codes or symptoms are you getting?

I misplaced the codes but what you pictured is the first item I replaced. Obviously I'll have to move the spare, right?

Thanks!

need the code(s) otherwise guessing at best,

what info do u have for 'fuel vent solenoid'' being a problem?

the parts in the evap sys can be specific & confusing, like
Fuel System Evaporative Vapor Canister Vent Purge Valve Solenoid
https://repairpal.com/estimator/ford/expedition/fuel-evaporative-canister-replacement-cost
The biggest mistake is to being changing parts based on hunches and misdiagnosis. That is where this job becomes more expensive than bringing the problem to a professional
you're prob looking for one of these parts - this is how ford calls 'em

the fuel tank & the canister have vent valves
