My 2007 Expedition's A/C blows out cool air just fine. My concern is with the whining noise that emits from the a/c compressor. At idle it sounds okay. As soon as rpm's start to rise, the whining starts. Rpm's lower and there is no noise. Does this mean my a/c is about to go out? Thank you in advance.

could be something else, turn the truck on and use either a cardboard tube or a hose put it to your ear and use it to listen to the ac, power steering, alt, etc. It will help you isolate where the whining is coming from.

I have to do the same to mine.

I will give that a try. I just bought a mechanics stethoscope to hopefully pin point the whine.
