I was woundering if there was a way to switch the auto
4WD to a 2WD, Auto, 4HI, 4Low? I read on here that you
can cut the brown wire underneith to turn it
off, but I dont want to turn it off all the time.

If you want run a switch into the cab that closes or open the brown wire circuit and you'll be able to disable A4WD. You can't really use another switch that has 2WD on it since those switches use variable resistances.

My '07 is setup this way. 2H, 4A, 4H, 4L on the switch. I'm not sure how this is wired, but it works. Rarely leaves 2H in my driving. 4A scrubbed the tires on my Explorer.

No, if its not stock then no. The switch works on different resistances to select different drives. If I'm wrong find yourself a switch with 2h on it and plug that in. Otherwise its to hard to bother.

I wouldnt go cutting any wires when all you haver to do is remove a fuse and its going to be in a4wd anyway all the lite brown wire does is stop the transfercase from going into a possie type of mod 30% of your power is going to the front wheels either way wire cut or not

It's true changing out the switch doesn't do anything, even thought the wiring colours are the same. Ithought it would be an easy way and not cut the wire
