Black Exhaust Tips..

I want a black exhaust tip but want to stary under 40 bucks. Im lookind around a foot long slash tip 4' outlet.

I was thinking of buying a chrome or stainless steel one and painting it black, any thoughts or suggestions?

SS inherently resist rust, no?

The muffler tip doesn't get very hot so you wouldn't need high temp paint like you would on engine parts. However if you did use primer and high temp enamel paint you could bake it in the oven on 300 for an hour and harden the paint. A couple of coats that way and you're gonna have some rugged paint.
