I would love to try this one day. I really dislike the door molding’s and I have seen some pics with them removed and I love the clean look
As long as you have a first generation with the door strip not the second generation with the plastic cladding. Here are some before and after pics of my 02.09f096bbc51240e8251338be897f9f83.jpg53c42ae0b0eff4e37e378f0fceb1b972.jpga3e84420521c6c83c0469bf25056e564.jpg177c60acbf52a6ea59c29d9ca340c598.jpg99bd243d3b32dae312fbb7e72e87ed60.jpg93d0c44adeec27480d07c3171532ce6f.jpg

thanks USCGMAC - and I agree the mouldings will come off easy. its the adhesive I had difficulty with. I started with a section and after about an hour with goo gone + eraser wheel + plastic scrapers, I wasnt making progress and so at that point I decided to put it back and figure it out. there has to be an faster way...

how long did it take you to do yours?

If you use the eraser wheel correctly it should remove the adhesive no matter how old or dried out it is. Do not put goo gone on it then the eraser wheel. It has to be dry for the wheel to work. If you go to YouTube you will see lots of do it yourself videos. I got the glue off in about an hour and that's only because my batteries on my drill are old and don't hold much of a charge. You could use a plastic putty knife to scrape it gently with the good gone and heat it up with a hair dryer or heat gun. Trust me, watch the how to videos and you will get it. At the end I used a little 3000 grit sand paper very lightly to remove some of the black line left on the paint then used my buffer to buff it out with polishing compound and cleaner wax after that.
