Electronic Brake Controller

Does the 2018+ Expy come standard with electronic brake controller (EBC). I am in the process of acquiring a 23’ travel trailer. RV dealer is telling me state law requires an electronic brake controller. However, I already have the 7-pin round trailer connector in my Expy. From what I understand, EBC goes through the 7-pin connector?

FYI: I do not have the heavy duty tow package.

No. But it is available as a dealer installed option. So you can have it added...

You can install it yourself and activate yourself via Forscan.

You use to not be able to activate it yourself, but that is no longer the case.

Then just look up how to use Forscan if you don't already know how and use the brake controller activation codes that you would for the F150 with the latest version of Forscan.

Thank you for your replies. I’ll call a few dealers tomorrow who have availability for the install. Looks like a lot of trim work (which I hate as I always brake things).
