How Many Miles Per Tank Do You Get?

2008 5.4 V8. I get terrible gas mileage when I'm in NYC. I average about 230 miles per tank. Driving to Florida, I get around 350 miles per tank averaging 70-80 mph.

I have an 05, 5.4 4X4. I bought it used in Dec 2009. I get just over 14.306 around town, actually rural driving, and I'm averaging 16.943 for highway driving. In fact, on a recent trip to and from Colorado Springs from Indianapolis, I got exactly that. My overall average mileage for both around home and highway is 15.567. I keep a detailed record (Excel work sheet) on all my vehicles (9), as a check on performance and maintenance needs.

I usually fill up the Expedition around the 18-19 gallon point, but have gone as far as the 21 gallon point. Obviously, the longer I wait, there is a slight increase in overall mileage, as the weight of the vehicle is steadly decreasing.

I was hoping to get in the 20's when I bought it, but then opted for the 4X4 version. However, compared to my F-250 crew 4X4 that has averaged 12.213 over it's life so far, it's a big inprovement. But I also have two Escapes (08 auto I-4 4X2 and 05 4X4 manual I-4, and they average around 25 plus) that my wife and I drive daily.

On a completely factory 03 Expedition I get about 315 miles from a full tank (26 gallons). My engine is the 4.6 liter

Is there a thread on tweaking the Expedition to get better mileage?

I'm going to bring this thread back. I have yet to drive my truck to E, but I'm averaging about 250miles with using 3/4 tank and I'm calculating about 13.8-14.3mpg. I drive about 15miles to work, most of which is highway. I typically drive at 65-80mph.

2005 5.4L, running mostly in 2 wheel drive, but have put it in 4x4 and AWD occasionally when needed, which is when I get towards the 13.8mpg end of things. Also running 87 octane.

98 5.4 k&n drop in 3" bullet exhaust and hypertech tuner. i average about 10-11. kind of bad with a 30 gal tank. thats with 89 too. i do sometimes get 330. but still not much better.

My first tank of fuel since buying the truck, I took a road trip across the state. I averaged 65 mph, and got about 460 miles, filled with about 25 gallons. I average 15 mpg city driving according to the trip computer.

I have 97 ezpy Eddie Bauer and i am having problems with my rear ac blower, some times it will work. I think i have a problem with a relay. my book does tell me much about it can somebody tell me where is, under the hood or under the dash.

I have a 2008 Limited EL 5.4L and with regular gas I will get just under 400 miles from a tankful, if I can find ethanol free gas, then I usually get about 440 miles from a tankful, that is driving until the low fuel warning comes on telling me I have 50 miles range left..
