just came back from a 4 day trip with the expy.

San Jose to Las Vegas to Los Angeles and back to San Jose

at some point at the 2nd day in Las Vegas, the service engine light came on and stayed on for the remaining of the trip. The car still ran fine, but i felt a little bit of misfire and loss of performance. I recently changed all the coil packs and spark plugs. I'll be headed to autozone today to get the code and post on here. Besides that, the car ran like a champ. 8 people, luggage on top and hitch carrier.

Sounds like a fun trip! Good to know the Expy made it for you without too much trouble. Probably a vacuum leak that set the code. But let us know!

Check the two hoses on the drivers side of the throttle body. Mine had disintegrated on the back side. Then check around the EGR tubing for leaks. There are write ups on how to check for vacuum leaks in the Tech section.

OK so I fixed it. it wasnt a vacuum leak. it was the MAF sensor being dirty. I sprayed with the maf cleaner. waited till dry and fired it up. cel is gone now. all is well.

I lost a full 1mpg. it was at 14.5. I usually get 15.5 on freeway.
