I've just inherited my dads '97 XLT and with it the signs of its 215,000 miles are obvious. I can stand the wear and tear everywhere, except the speakers. 3 out of the 4 speakers are blown. Does anyone have anyone know what the size is (6x8 I think) and the watts? I've seen that 25w are the factory specs. and can anyone provide a link to some cheap but good speakers. Also, is "premium" the higher end stock system, like the "Mach Audio" on my Taurus?

is there a factory sub woofer? then you have the mach audio. and its 4 ohms for the speakers. pretty much all car speakers are 4 ohms. and some good speakers go to http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ which i like or even http://www.crutchfield.com/. both are good site but i think sonic has better deals. and get higher wattage speakers. so youll never blow them with the factory head unit. and the size is 6x8 but i have 5x7s in. and theyre a little cheaper too.
