Please Help! I stripped my oil plug a while back. I still don’t know how. Anyway I put in a temporary plug (similar to the picture below) and it’s been fine. Today I went to change my oil and the temporary plug kept spinning I kept turning it and finally it freed and came out but only because the anchor portion of the plug snapped off and stayed in the pan. I tried everything to fish it out short of dropping the pan. It’s sitting dry at the moment because I’m terrified to run it with this piece in the pan. Any insight on if this is an issue running the engine or should I have the pan dropped and replaced after a tow? Thanks in advance.
