What are the chances of 07-14 F-150 bumpers fitting expeditions? I know some members have slightly modified mounting holes to fit prerunner style bumpers but I’m looking at a ranch hand bumper.
I wasn’t a fan of those. They just look a little off. Personal preference I guess? I did find an Amazon raptor style bumper for similar year f-150 that’s fit with some trimming!
After a fender bender two weeks ago I found a new in the box Vijay(Amazon) bumper with led lights to put on my wife’s 2012 expedition. Still need to paint the grill and replacement hood and rear bumper. But the winch bumper looks pretty good! I did drill 4 3/4 holes for the front sensors and prayed off the mounting tabs from the damaged front bumper. Then epoxied them behind the holes and mounted the sensors. The factory harness was long enough to reach the new holes but I had to add some wire to the fog light harness to reach all four led lights. The upper hoop and led bar I am trying to figure how to mount as it is really tight between that upper hoop, the grill bottom and the bumper.
There are minor mods required to fit this bumper to the expedition. The lower bumper gets removed from the upper. The bumper backing plasic mount gets trimmed flush behind the upper plastic piece. And the inner two mounting bolts that came on the bumper I removed with a two pound sledgehammer that popped the tack welds. The lower outer frame flange slots need to be cut with a sawzall or grinder to utilize the remaining studs. Bolt the bumper in place and center with two of the nuts from the bash bar removed snug in place. Then take te double studs the formerly attached the bash bare to the frame flanges and use some fingernail polish or paint to mark where to drill the holes to bolt to the inner frame flanges. Once removed, drilled, remount with the outer bolt and ford nut. Then slide the tandem bolts from the bash bar through the flanges into the bumper and use the ford nuts and fight me everything tight. Do not mount the upper light bar hoop like I did because the grill plastic will not fit back in place.
