Try checking Ford part numbers for compatibility. If the part numbers are the same, the aftermarket part should work with either generation. Also, for the trailer, check the height of your ball. For my hitch, the top of the trailer ball receiver had to be positioned within 1" of the top of the ball. If the ball is not positioned correctly, you'll need a hitch that allows you to adjust the ball up or down as needed. It's difficult to tell from the photo, but it looks like the ball may be too high for the trailer ball receiver. If you drop it a little lower, it may reduce the sag.Is there really much difference between the GEN3 and GEN4 Expedition
