our recently aquired 01 expedition 5.4 has a few odd noises.
-ticking on startup and under heavy acceleration- trace to passenger manifold area. I can replace with dorman amifolds for $120 including gaskets , nuts and studs, Is there any other option like headers? or am I just asking for problems? I have headers on my sbc mazdolet and they are constantly coming loose.
-knocking noise, only on startup for maybe 30 seconds, never makes the noise otherwise, I have a buddy and his has always made a knocking noise, and another friend with an 05 that seems to have knocking noise always. or am I just not used to these ford engines? maybe an airpump or a/c compressor?
