My Daughter just side swiped a tree with my 02 XLT. with 144,000 a 4.6 motor. The sad thing is Blue book is like 2500.00 I have 1000.00 deduct so 1500.00 for a 02 dependable truck.

Well I have to get something newer. I would like your feedback on what is the best year 2007+ Best Model, Best Motor (I don't think I can get a 4.6) or...if it was you, would you buy an Expy or what? I need something to haul people, and can pull a trailer.

Thanks Jeff

how many people? if you dont need all 3 rows to be comfortable i would get another 1st gen or a 2nd gen both with a 5.4. 3rd gens are expensive. but they are really nice.

I would buy another 1st gen personally. Especially if your kids will be driving it still. 2nd gens are okay, but 1st gens can take a beating.

I like my second gen. You have to decide how much you want to spend and what options you want.

I think I would be looking for a 2nd gen. I believe for the money the 2003-2006 you get more for your money, but it all depends on what you want and what you feel comfortable with. I have had three 1st gens and when I bought my 2005 back in March I will never look back again. I totally love the 2nd gens. They ride better, drive better, and they do get better fuel mileage. I can get around 18-20 on the open road. PLUS the extra power is the biggest plus
