transfer case issue--stuck in 4x4

I noticed a pretty mean vibration in the front of my expy at highway speed. Long story short-It's because the Transfer case was stuck in 4x4. I checked the usual suspects (fuses, Shift motor, hub actuator) and they're fine. I split the case and discovered that my electro-mag clutch was jammed. Here's the weirdest part, when I pulled the main shaft out of the housing, The clutch let go. I checked the electro magnet and the wire that feeds it, they're fine. I'm wondering if maybe the bearing is bad that the drive gear/clutch rides on and that is causing enough friction to drive the front end. If anyone has ever experienced something like this, or could offer some expertise, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
