what color of antifreeze is use in 04

From the factory it's gold-ish . Zerex G-05 or Motorcraft Premium Gold . It's a 100k mile coolant.

I have an 04 also and stocked up on the G-05 since my local Napa has it on sale, cheaper than Motorcraft around here.

I usually put yellow in it before flush.

And the real answer Cindy, is the antifreeze you choose must be the type engineered for your vehicle... here is the Ford article which explains the various versions of antifreeze and when and why they are used
