Paid 2500$ for my first vehicle, 98 expedition xlt 4.6-4r70w 4x4 173000 miles.

Trans went out 2013 and sat in my yard until dec 17 2014 when i found a reasonably priced 97 xlt 4.6-4r70w 4x4 with a real bad engine knock for 550$. Swapped the motor with my dad in the garage and runs and drives great.

New the the club. Picked up a 2007 Ford Expedition Limited @ 140,000 miles for $11,000. Interior and engine was in impeccable shape, new hoses, belts, the works. Changed the spark plugs (no breaks, came out easy) and coils myself the first week, added some friction modifier to get rid of the shudder from Overdrive (tranny fluid looks old, changing fluid and filter this weekend).

Only had the truck for a week, but I love it. My wife has a 2012 Ford Explorer Limited that we bought brand new and my Expedition looks nicer and drives just as well as hers for 1/4 the price. Looking forward to scavenging the forums for tips and tricks to help get the most out of this beast.

2/12/14 I bought the wife a 1997 Expedition xlt 4x4 w the 5.4 for just 1400 with just 200,000 on the clock. Haha Were the third owners now. 10 mi after purchase new pass front tire a week later 8 cop an plugs, full fluid flush, a mo later lower ball joint, alt and batt. This year was a new GEM, windshield with lifetime of vehicle ownership warranty, 4 tires, coolant flush, and rear heater core an a hose. Total to date we are about 3570 into the vehicle with purchase price. So other than the high milage we came out pretty good. Not a mechanic but know how to read and listen and turn a wrench and ratchet. Just want to thank you fellows who posted about the gem and fuse 20 issue causing the starter to engage.

Got my 2001 XLT 5.4 4x4 with 151k miles on it for $ 1400. Besides some cosmetic stuff which I've already took care some of it, truck runs great. Everything works drives smooth as butter.
Going to replace some front end stuff soon for the piece of mind.

We just took delivery of a Ford CPO 2011 EL Limited w/ 78K on the clock. We paid $27,850 + tax, tags, etc. for a total of $29,800. After some argument, I got them to throw on a set of tires as well, which adds roughly $800 of value. NADA after adjusting for mileage is $30,725 + $2,175 for the CPO = $32,900. All in all, I'm satisfied we got a decent deal on it.
