Wiggly Rear View Mirror

2001 Expedition XLT

The base plate is firmly bonded onto the windshield. When I wiggle the auto-dim mirror, you can see the mirror bracket moving on the base plate. In the olden days, there used to be a hex screw you could to tighten the fit but they don't build them that way any longer (oh for the simpler days). I can't figure out how to remove the mirror to see what I need to do. Can anyone help me?
