Thank you to everyone for your assistance and advice regarding aftermarket wheels. I found some I fell in love with, 22" Harley Davidson wheels with Ford Limited Center caps. They ended up being about an inch and half wider than the stockers.

And just in case anyone is interested, I have the stock wheels/tires and the factory TPMS still installed for sale, open to reasonable offers. PM if interested. LINK -> 20" Factory Chrome Clad Wheels

Thanks everybody! I really appreciate the comments.

Freeway, as far as the 24s - I didn't want to go quite that big, this thing still sees offroad/country from time to time....I do live in Iowa :)

I like the wheels but the tires seem to "skinny" to me. Too much open wheel well space and not a tire I think you want to get very far from a paved surface.

If by skinny you mean short, yes - 40 series...Frankly looking 1 inch sidewall won't really matter much for the various gravel/fields/dirt paths this truck sees at low speed a couple times a year. I bet it still has 3" to 4" or so of tire or so......its not like freeway who has about an inch of tire :) In all reality though I would have to be some kind of idiot to take the expedition offroading - it would tear this truck up - too heavy, too long - after all its a family rig :)

Going to use this thread to convince my wife to let me buy 22's. I think she might want a bit of a taller tire though.

Be aware the tires I have are already bigger than stock in all directions....

Slightly larger diameter
a couple inches wider

You might be able to go slightly bigger diameter....but only a little more before rubbing is a concern

Is that just tire concern or are you saying he can't go bigger with rim and tire? Just trying to follow statement

I read it as more tire (ie 45 series instead of the 40 series)..now that you say that...im not sure

Well let me tell ya'll our needs and maybe ya'll can steer me in the right direction because I know next to nothing about off road tires. We'll be driving both on and off road. Off road consisting of gravel, mud, sand, and fist sized rocks. I do not want to change the height of Expy (at least not at this point in time) and definitely don't want it to rub. I was leaning towards a 22 because I wanted a wider tire but what I hadn't thought about was that it would also be a thinner tire which would concern me when going through my uncle's ranch (fist sized rocks). That being said what are ya'lls thoughts and/or opinions?
