It was extra cold this morning and I heard a new sound while going over a speed bump. It was a distinct sqeaking or creaking sound coming from the front suspension. What could it be and how do I fix it? My exp. has about 96k. Thanks for any help.

Don't know if it's related, but whenever I go over speed bumps, there is sqeaking in the back.

BTW, I have 32k miles

Give waht JUST4FUN says a try. Also have the shocks checked. If they're the original shocks the seals on them have probably gone out by now.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the shocks are done for. I have been putting off replacing them. I think my tires are ruined as a result. They are sawtoothed really bad. I'll check the balljoints tomorrow.

Can I get a recommendation for replacement shocks? I was thinking about the KYB MonoMax but I haven't decided yet. Is there anything else that wears out at around 100k?
Thanks for any help.

At 100k there are a lot of things that needs to be done. For example your spark plugs probably needs replacing.

I had all my fluids flushed out and replaced the spark plugs at 100k on my old 97' Expy.

The spark plugs alone would probably cost you about $500 at the dealer. And probably another good $300-$400 for all you fluid flushed and replace.

Also just speaking for myself around the same time I had my E-Brake freeze up on me the alternator failed then the starter failed and the belt needed replacement.

So I got everything replaced along with my tires and in about 3 months later I decided to trade it in for a 03' Expy.

What a waste of money to replace all of that. The dealer gave me a lousy trade in value. I spent more money putting in new parts just for them to give me a trade in value for half of what I put in.

hmm sounds like a good time to sell it. I've been eyeing an '07 EL. I don' t know if I can afford the payment though. I have not had any trouble with my '02 since i bought it 4 years ago. I have put about 50k on it. Thanks for the info.
