Alright....I've been thinking about saving up to get a 2 inch life on my truck. Nothing to extravagant just something to beef up the suspension i have now and make the rear not look so saggy when i have my DJ gear loaded in the back. Plus it would be nice when i take her offroad every so often!

I was wondering....if it was cheaper to buy a lift kit yourself and pay to have it installed or just buy a package from a local 4x4 shop? Any suggestions on a good brand or what i should be looking for? I already checked into new tires today so hopefully those will be coming for christmas :) any help would be appreciated! thanks guys!

If my truck was 2wd i might consider it...but seeing as though i actually USE my 4x4...i don't think i'll be lowering it any time soon

You're right, man. If mine were 2WD, I'd lower it...but then again, I'd probably never have this vehicle then. I need my 4WD in the winter in CT.

I wish the 4WD lowering kits were cheaper, though...I think a 2" drop would look good on it w/o taking away from the offroad abilities much.

Then again, raised Ex's are bad ass! Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question(s)...Good luck, though!

pffttt.

I don't have much hands on with them but I think you'll be better off buying a package and doing it yourself. It's not that hard really. And nothing is cramed in small spaces that makes it difficult.

Avro is def right, buying parts and installing yourself is always the cheapest option. It just comes down to you having the tools, time, and skills. If I were you, I'd go that route if you met those requirements. I know there are plenty of people on here with lifted expo's, I can't believe none of them have spoken up yet...

Oh and bloodzero...I dare you call any of the guys driving lifted expos here sissies to their faces...I'm pretty sure they could each kick your ass :p

I was checking out ebay motors and they have some for around 100 to 200 bills but if you want a name brand go with daystar. Oh by the way does your expo have torsion bars?
