Had one in my Explorer. Pretty much had to be standing next to it to get it to start. If you are getting one, make sure you buy the PATS bypass as well.

I would recommend buying a decent one instead. And get a bypass that makes it so you don't have to have your spare key inside the vehicle. The Wal-Mart ones require a key inside which makes it possible for anyone to take your truck with a key they made at the hardware store. I think it's something that you shouldn't cheap out on. Get a good one and don't regret it later.

I have an AVATAL unit in mine that was installed by the previous owner. I like the thing, although it is kind of easy to accidently hit the start button.

I think the big thing with these systems is the install. Go to a decent shop to have it installed.

I actully got one for a gift at christmas. I was going to hook it up it but after watching the video and looking at the manaul I was kind of thrown back “easy install” my a$$. Im sure I could have hooked it up but spending a day on it and having to buy another key was for the birds. I returned it but after thinking about it I wanted to see if anyone here had hooked one up to a expedition and see if there was a way to get around the spare key.

$325 for a viper at a local shop around here seems to be the cheapest way to go. 430Am sucks running out in the cold to warm up the truck!

Good idea on the return. I have an AutoStart one. Works great, I think mine was about $380 installed including the $50 programmed PATS bypass. That way you don't have to put a spare key inside your rig.

Pretty much agree with everyone here... I would recommend a reputable car stereo shop for pieces like this, just too many things to mess up. I don't have one in my new ride, but had one in one of my minivans and loved it.

Plus, good luck with anything from wally world, I know most pieces like this are chinese or japanese made, but walmart takes it to a whole new level, I'd rather drive my brand new expy thru the glass front doors of my local walmart than shop there, but that's a whole different thread and probably don't need to get started here.

do you have any probs with this? i only have one key and this may be the route i have to go without buying another key...a universal keyless bypass and program will have to be loaded to it...
