I have ordered the OBDLink Ex and am planning to try out ForScan on my 2026 Expedition Max. I understand from some posts that it most likely won't work. If I make sure to save the settings prior to making any changes, what are my risks at trying to make any modifications? Can I revert back to my saved default settings to fix any issues that arise. I am only planning to use the "easy" method and changing basic things like blinker duration, fog lights on when high beams are on and maybe enabling some Platinum features on my Active. I also ordered the 4D Tech auto start/stop eliminator so I am not looking to make this change with ForScan. I am just looking to get an idea of what to expect and anything specifically to avoid.

I use the ex with ForScan and a Snap-On PAS Thru Jbox with FDRs on a 2026 with no issues.

To answer your question:
Whenever using Forscan, make sure you backup before any modifications, and after every modification.
The risks are basically you can break something if you program wrong, especially using as-blt code method.
I would stick with the easy mode to be safe, since they don't guarantee anything works yet for 2025, 2026, 2027 Expeditions.
The least that can happen is something does not work or programming gets ignored. If so, revert back by changing to the way it was before you modified or restore the backup.
Worse case the info system gets frozen and can possibly be factory reset or is bricked.
So do one mod at a time, test, if successful, backup, if not restore.
