Truck has 32K on it and it started throwing the 2112 code and would die, which is a PITA when your towing a 6k trailer, and being in Canada at the time was not a plus. Local dealer, was zero help, as they were also a week out to look at it. Limped back to NJ, but it died several times and has been at the dealer for 5 days and they have NOT yet looked at it. No loaner car and rental car is +$300. All local dealers are a week out for service, I called. Remind me why I bought a Ford? Local shop says 50% of shop work is warranty work, Yikes.

Suspect it's the throttle actuator, as the car would jerk as if I was playing with the throttle, but since this is all electronic now, which I will never understand.

Will post what they replaced to correct it.

That is TERRIBLE Service from those Dealers! I would be standing in the middle of the sales floor. I have never had bad service from either of the 2 dealers I have dealt with the past few years. 50% Warranty work is not a lot and fairly normal for a dealership service department.

Most likely it is the throttle Body, there is a TSB on it in our Expy's and the F150's.

GOOD LUCK!!

Called 4 dealers near me, they all are making apps 1 week out. This tells me they have to much warranty work to complete. My next stop is the showroom floor.

I don't know why you bought a Ford but I bought one because they make great reliable automobiles. You have one issue and somehow the brand as a whole is to blame. I think you're trolling on here. 50% warranty work for a dealer is not a lot. And I find it hard to believe that dealers in Canada and the 4 around you in NJ are all a week or more out from getting your vehicle in for service. Dealers around me can get you in same day if there is an issue.

Again trolling is looking mighty suspect

Really, calling him a Troll for telling his story? I just think he is having bad luck.

I do 100% agree on the Warranty work. He is just frustrated, and looking for help.

I just read somewhere on here that Ford has replaced some throttle bodies under a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) You might want to ask your Service Manager about it, if that's what you suspect.

Beat ya to it Andy!!:bleh:

What he said...TSB. Oh, and a little scene on the sales floor...that should take care of it. A call to Ford's Service Hotline can help also!

Dealer replaced the throttle body (under warranty), once they could find a tech to run the scan. It sat at the dealer 5 days. I hope this does not become a common occurrence, once it's off warranty.

That's great! I'm glad they took care of you. Nothing worse than having a vehicle sit. I'm surprised they didn't offer you a loaner while yours was sitting.

Fortunately I have never had a problem getting even my old 05 in to see my local dealer. If you build a relationship with them by being a regular service customer, they make sure they take care of you. I know population density is a lot greater in NJ compared to IN so they might not be as responsive or sympathetic as they are here.

LMAO....damn, just spit coffee at the screen.....

Does anyone know the specific issue with the old style throttle body that they had to replace some of them? I'm curious as to what the problem with them was/is.

on the initial f150 eco boost it had to do more with the mass air flow sensor on teh air filter box, then they moved it, then they made a connector that was easier to detach to check said filter.

throttle body iirc was to do with a sensor issue, but that was waaay back in 2013 and pretty sure it was resolved.
