(me), we’re glad you’re back.
tPIMjNPuDz0xOHru-CY6GGEcjrSQpp6NGhCLMEOuabzPrlQ5wN9rFz4ZEL6Al8U_szKeaU-SK5Ewlrd1TvhFbluY68UnOg2TApSx6kDdKH3hyoEanb4X=s0-d-e1-ft

We’re thrilled you’ve chosen another Ford and we hope your 2018 Expedition EL will reward you for many miles to come.

Designing, engineering and building your new vehicle was only the beginning for us; now we’re intent on providing you with an outstanding ownership experience that will reaffirm your choice at every turn.

From all of us at Ford, thank you. Welcome. And congratulations.

Someone in consumer relations needs to get with the program.

(For anyone curious, my other Ford purchases in my life have been a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and a 1999 Cobra).

Dang, I just realized I'm tied with the most cars under a particular brand I've owned with 3. The other marques where I've owned 3 cars are Nissan (Maximas, Altima) and Hyundai (Genesis x 3).

Be happy with the email I guess. Years ago we use to get a complete interior/exterior cleaning kit. Granted it was Dollar Store quality, but it was a nice gesture. Then Ford started sending tubes of touch-up paint instead, which was actually much better than the cleaning kits. With our 2008 Expedition purchase I think we got a small tin of cookies. From Fo Mo Co, not the dealer. Dealership also usually gives a handful of trinkets.

Curious - what real world, everyday driving MPG were/are you seeing on your 2013 Fusion Hybrid?

I'm not a hypermiler, but do occasionally drive super responsibly and my 1.6L Fusion / 6MT can achieve and maintain an honest 38.3 MPG highway @ 75 MPH. Midwest, flat open roads, no bumper to bumper. I have a co-worker with a 2015 Fusion Hybrid who claims to hardly see 35 MPG. Claims to drive it right.

With my Fusion all Ford has sent me is recall notices... Even recalled and replaced the wheels, go figure.

I don't have the Fusion Hybrid anymore as I traded it in for the Acadia (not enough room for three car-seats). IIRC, I got 38MPG with it combined as well. I had the Titanium model which had a lot of features which made it pretty heavy.

All in all I wasn't happy with the car; had an engine defect that needed to be fixed (under warranty, but still was a brand-new car, an order car at that). I think if I were buying a Hybrid now, honestly I'd get a Hyundai Ioniq or the Honda Accord Hybrid.

John that's awesome! Clearly you've lived overseas, and I recognize the NSW as New South Wales so probably Sydney? Australia is one of my favorite countries in the world btw; I tried to move there back in 2008 but couldn't divest because of the economy, then I met my American wife a couple years after that :).

I ordered and bought a new 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4 - my first Ford after buying and owning GM and Dodge vehicles for more than 40 years.

All I got from Ford for buying a new vehicle. was a lousy email too. I did get surveys by email, and recently got a 3-year follow-up survey.

My sales person gave me a set of Ford all-weather mats - but the driver side was defective out-of-the-box and I had to make two trips to the service department to have the front set replaced.

I personally think the auto industry has had such a good recovery that they have taken their customers for granted.

When the next downturn hits, they will be begging for customers - and wondering why some of their customers switched to other brands that appreciate their customers.

My 1987 full size Eddie Bauer Bronco came with two high grade Eddie Bauer pieces of luggage , a 2-suiter and a suitcase. Best luggage I ever owned.

Much of my work involved travel, so those pieces have been around. Thirty years later they're still around but not used anymore.

Four Expeditions later I'm still waiting for something, anything?!?

And these days manufacturers are making a lot more profit on each truck sold! If anything throw in more lol.

I got a Amazon Echo Dot with the Lincoln star on it in a fancy black box as a gift for my ‘18 Navi. I asked around on a different forum and the other Navi buyers didn’t get one. I think it’s totally up to the dealership on what gifts, if any, are given out.

Totally up to the dealership. Promotional items like that come in inconsistently both as promotions of their own or with new vehicle orders. All too often for something cool like that, they won’t receive one with every new order and when they do get one, sales staff will keep for themselves.
