So I always post questions and never show anything that ive done to my truck. So here is a little bit of the sound upgrade im doing in my truck. I am going to get subs soon but I went ahead and installed all this just to say I got something done lol. 4 kenwood 6x8s with a 4 channel kenwood amp and dynomat. I also have a kenwood excelon 794 HU but dont have pictures of it yet. I also have a ported box for 2 12's that will eventually get filled with 2 jl w3s. I just havent gotten to that point yet.

I've been debating the door speakers for awhile now, how do you like those kenwoods? Big difference?

yeah they are alot better than stock. I bought all 4 off of ebay for $82 so I figured i'd try them out. They have alot of bass and you can crank them up to the point where it hurts without any distortion

Do they fit the stock 03' EB Expy holes? btw what's your kenwood amp output?

I'm thinking about getting a sound system upgrade also, but have no idea where to start.

Im not real sure if they will or not. I want to say they will. I'm assuming you have the newer body style Expedition. Either way I think they are both 6x8 openings. My amp is a kenwood 4 channel with 60 watts rms a piece

If getting speakers, I find it helpful to go to Crutchfield and see what fits. If anything, see the dimensions of stuff that fits, then compare to the ones you want to get.

almost the same ones as mine. i just got the 5x7s. thought they were the right size. it was b4 i knew so much now. i like them. i put bass blockers on them so i didnt blow them out but since my deck was so cheap it made them sounds bad. so now i just keep the bass down. sounds great! i added some tweeters to the corner pieces of the door. that helps a lot too! especially on low volume. you can hear everything that way.

o and where are you putting your amp?

Hah, naw, didn't mean to make it sound like you should buy from crutchfield. Just use their "will it fit" thing to see what fits, then get the part elsewhere :)

Sonicelectronix is not always cheaper than Crutchfield. When I upgraded my system (new amps, speakers, sub, speaker wire, etc), I split it between the two since it was cheaper than going with just one (that includes the shipping). It all depends on what is on sale ...... :)

hahaha yeah thats very true, but for the most part sonic has crutchfield beat. I've also noticed that if you go on sonic's website and look at something you copy and paste it into ebay search and they have an ebay account to. I payed $189 for a $219 cd player that they had on their website and you still get free shipping, wiring harness, and dash kit.
