Bought used 2015 Expy without front license plate bracket. Selling indy dealer gave me the bracket and three pop rivets to attach to pre-drilled holes on front bumper, but his pop rivet tool was worn so could not grip the pop rivets correctly. Wondering if I can just use some sheet metal screws to bolt the bracket on? Or should I try to find a functioning pop rivet tool?

Try some thick, short (No. 14?) sheet metal screws - the kind they sell to mount license plates in the plastic pop-in nuts of yesteryear.

Test them to see how they fit in the holes. If they don't enlarge the holes too much they should be fine. But if they are much bigger than the holes they could gouge them out and prevent you from using rivets later on if the screws get ripped out.

The rivets will hold better than the screws, but unless you are constantly parking in Brooklyn it should work fine.

Don't know what a 2015 looks like, but my 2014 has 2 holes in the front air dam thing (or whatever it's called). Problem is two fold. If you use those holes for the top of the plate holder, it's subject to being pulled of inadvertently. So I used those holes for the bottom of the plate (no holder). Connected plate directly, no bracket. Also, the metal underneath is very close so I didn't have much room to work with. I ended up buying stainless self threading bolts and cutting the length down then using tywraps on upper part to keep it with four points fastening it down. Its snowbank ready now!

I had a similar issue on my 07. There's a metal support close behind the top attachment points and I couldn't get screws or bolts to fit. I ended up using zip ties (black zip ties on a black truck aren't too horrible).

Go to the hardware store and get a few of each coarse thread screws that might fit.........probably #14 x 3/4" sheet metal screws.

Just leave it off and roll dirty. Looks better without it.

No way, simple, just buy a new '21.
