My main priorities are

1.Ride comfort over sporty handling - glide over the road and bumps - long journey comfort max.
2. Blue Cruise over Co Pilot 360 assist
3. Black stealth

I am confused looking at the Expedition 4th gen build guides which have 60P- CCD and 60R- Sport Tuned suspension with CCD. The platinums seems to have standard CCD and Blue Cruise option (with additional subscription) and the stealth one has sport tuned with CCD with only CoPilot 360 assist.

Will the CCD with sport tuned make the ride stiffer and less smooth or is it an insignificant difference or same CCD feel with perk of better handling ? Please help me with this one mainly as ride comfort is my top priority.

How much is Ford Blue Cruise better vs assist ?

Prefer blacked edition over chrome but low priority over comfort.

I am having a 5k delta between the limited max stealth and platinum max so want to see what would satisfy me better - they are not local to my area so need a verbal opinion from the community.

Thanks in advance.

I honestly never noticed a noticeable difference between the suspensions. Really depends what you like exterior and interior wise.

We have a platinum. The ride is okay, but not great. The main culprit is undoubtedly the 22” wheels. If ride is a priority look for 20” wheels. But ride is very subjective so its best to test drive one and be sure to find roads that are not super smooth.

Do you mean no difference between CCD and CCD w/Sport tuning or between CCD and no CCD in general?

All I can tell you is that my Expy SPP non CCD with HD trailer tow and eLSD has a hard suspension. You’ll notice every little bump without the CCD. However, if you find one that has the eLSD get it! I think it is the best option to get on the Expy.
So make sure exactly what Expy to get as the shocks, swaybars, rear axle, final drive ratio and springs are different depending on what the configuration is.
For example, mine is a SPP with the Hd trailer tow non CCD. It’s almost as hard as my GT500 on a lowered Eibach suspension.

I have the SPP limited with the sport tuned with CCD and the stock 22" wheels shod with Pirelli Scorpions and the ride is smooth as silk. This is my first vehicle with the CCD and it is NICE!

What are your roads like? And do you have any back, neck, or knee issues? ;)

Unfortunately, those two priorities are mutually exclusive in the Ford world.

BlueCruise is only available on the Platinum trim.

There is no "black stealth" option on the Platinum trim. That's only on the Limited trim.

Living in NE Nevada, our roads are decent but not always perfectly maintained. Meaning, good roads but many rough patches. I am getting up in years and have neck and knee pain. That is why I love the CCD!!

I'm guessing you want true hands free driving? Because the 360 Assist and lane keeping in my 2022 Expedition 304a and my 2024 Raptor R work GREAT for "almost" hands free. It goes around bends in the roads and holds the lane well (without bumping off the lines). You can let go of the wheel but it will remind you to hold the wheel again.

Blue Cruise is limited to certain mapped highways across the US. If that is a big part of your decision, I'd look into where it can actually be used and where you live. I have a Tesla with AutoPilot (not full self driving) and my Expy has 360 assist. I am impressed with 360 assist for what it is and totally satisfied with it in my Expy. Blue Cruise may be closer to the Tesla AutoPilot, but only working on limited mapped roads is, well, limiting. Telsa Auto Pilot works on any road without pre-mapping.

As for suspension and ride, I do not have CCD. Not sure I'd want it because when it breaks, it's expensive to repair. I drove both and found a limited that was a better deal so I bought that. It had the 22" with the Pirelli and they were smooth on freeway driving, but around town, side roads, transitions from a main road to a side road they definitely imposed more "jolt" into the cabin. I went to 20" wheels and feel it is much better that the 22s and still just as smooth on smooth roads or the freeway. Wouldn't change a thing in my purchase decision. If anything, I will go to 18" if I someday feel the 20s are too harsh, but I doubt I'd put the effort or money into that. I'd spend money first on better shocks and sway bars.

I felt the floatiness of ccd for about three days. Love it now. I drove a regular suspension one when I was buying and it was fine I think. I’m used to trucks, f350s, etc. the ccd tends to spread out the impact of a bump, while regular you feel it briefly and it’s done. Harder and quicker versus softer and longer.

Do not under any circumstances buy one without the 3.73 limited slip. I believe stealth’s got that standard, at least on the 19s when I was buying. The other gears are too high and make it sluggish, plus you have one wheel peel. Yuck.

For my 2021 the Heavy Duty Tow Package included the .3.73 Non-Lmtd Slip Rear Axle which I believe was a part of the Stealth Package.

I think there are two 3.73 axles. A regular one and a HD towing one that you can outfit with the eLSD. That thing is awesome.

I have a 24 Limited Stealth appearance, with CCD and the ride quality is AMAZING. Way better than my XLT that I traded in.

I have Co-pilot and with the lane assist and it’s pretty good on highways and most streets, and it’s almost hands free. Very happy with it.
