What vehicle did you take your driving test in?

My brothers 1963 Pontiac Catalina. A huge car for a 16 year old, but I was thankful. I didn't have anything but a Yamaha 100 twin at the time. Sent from my N9131 using Tapatalk

    best replacement caliper -oem

Blame it on greedy landlords of commercial buildings. When you take a $5,000 or $10,000 per month rent, Jack it double or triple, and you no longer can make your parts here. Nobody's going to pay $300.00 for an upper control arm, when a made in China one is $40.00. Where are they going to be...

01 xlt seems to running in limp mode

Easier than spraying everywhere, smoke the motor through the hose that goes to brake booster. If your a smoker yourself, you can exhale through the hose and look for where it escapes. If not a smoker, a smoke machine is easy. I've never seen a vacuum leak cut totally the horsepower. It will...

01 xlt seems to running in limp mode

Yeah, that pressures fine. You can eliminate pump, lines, filter, from the equation. I'd check all 4 cats, sounds like one or more is clogged. Sent from my N9131 using Tapatalk

    2005 and 2003 engine compatibility

Captain, I'm going to concur with the others, life's short, find a motor 03 or so that's a 100 percent drop in fit. Anything can be made to work, if you've got the smarts and the time, but don't. Unless you want to bury yourself away from the wife, some do, it's a tough enough job, when it's...

    2000 5.4 l transmission issue

See, this is what happens when peeps try to push beyond the service intervals, 30k on the early ones. Real common complaint on the later 6speeders. Apparently even the first gens want super clean atf fluid. It's by far the easiest drain and fill of any automatic out there. Like Toby said, just...

    Replacement A/C compressor help

Penny's getting ready to shove that 25 pound turkey into the oven, and can't be bothered with her Suv. We'll guess who gets a hunk of coal in her stocking next month! Toby gets a Mr microphone in his so he and all here on the forum can hear him, happy holidays everyone; Sent from my N9131 using...

    Parking brake pedal

Like hamfisted said it works as a unit. If the cable and mechanism at the pedal is sound, you've either got a broken cable going to one of the rear wheels, or something went awry on one of the wheels. You will have to jack it up, pull both rotors, something popped off. Sent from my N9131 using...

2003 Expedition Check Charge system still on after new alternator

On top of what Stamp stated about different year, different part #, the next year 04 lists a different alternator if you have a 5 CD changer/vs not. If you still have original, cross reference old original alternator. Years back I managed an Oreillys, then Kragen, you wouldn't believe the...

    Parking brake pedal

I had a busted L/R cable when I bought my 00 model 5 years back. With help of a friend I wrangled new cable in place. It was an S.O.B of a job . We had to tug and pull on cable with locking vise grips, to get cable end into ends. If your physically challenged like I am these days, you might want...

    P0420 booooooo

Their was a rich lady in WW2 England, that did just that to a check oil light. She blew the engine, but Rolls Royce replaced it for her under warranty anyway. Privilege has it's perks. Why couldn't I have been born rich, instead of so good looking! Sent from my N9131 using Tapatalk

    P0420 booooooo

As long as it's running ok, and you passed smog, why worry. Most muffler shops will check out your back pressure for free or low cost. They do it to sell you a cat or two. Sent from my N9131 using Tapatalk

2003 Expedition Check Charge system still on after new alternator

Pull the alternator, and have it bench tested at a local parts store. Don't chase your tail for a possible bad part. What was the reason for the part change in the first place? Report back. Sent from my N9131 using Tapatalk

    P0420 booooooo

It's actually a catalytic converter code. Your guys that replaced the one, possibly missed another failing one. If your shop does a back pressure test on both sides, they'll find the culprit. Misfires left unattended are the biggest culprits of early cat failures. Sent from my N9131 using Tapatalk
