Trading the Expy...

Same problem here on an '03. Also had the motor replaced a while back by the dealer. Worked for a while, then came back. Only when cold. Today it stopped 3/4 of the way up. I had to play with it a bit to get it up and even then I doubt it is completely sealed. Would really like to find...- bhamilton

Hey, so my '03 is having some problems with the rear defroster. Everything is good up to the window grid. A while back I had one of the tabs fall off. the '03 with the 4.6 has two different spec'd part#s for the IAC. I had the same problem that you did. Got one from carquest and it did exactly what you say. Returned that one and got one from Napa and it worked like a charm. It's possible you're replacing with the wrong part# IAC. Call the...- bhamilton

Problem solved. The replacement IAC was bad. Replaced it again with one from Napa and it works fine now. Thanks to everybody to offered advice!- bhamilton

Update: Disconnected battery for a good 5-6 hours last week. Driven close to 200 miles and problem remains. Seemed to get better at first, but now is back to the way it was, with both the high idle and the humming. Called CarQuest today to see if I could exchange the IAC and they said yes...- bhamilton

OK, quick update. I disconnected the battery for about 5 hours. Driving the 15 miles home, it seems to be a bit better, but I'm not sure. I'll drive it more this weekend and see how it does. The humming sound is still there. I've narrowed it down and it's a resonance in the air intake...- bhamilton

Ok, I'll give this a shot. I hadn't tried this because I thought the computer was supposed to re-learn on the fly. All I do is disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes, right? How long should I leave it off? Thanks.- bhamilton

Nice. Thanks for the info. So where exactly is the condenser located? Behind the main grill, or down below? Though, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to hit all the radiators with this stuff, would it?- bhamilton
