    New code today

@GngrBeardMan, the code does say it’s a bad O2 sensor, but it may not be the O2 sensor directly. Before buying and replacing the O2 sensor, check the various vacuum lines, your fuel rail Schrader valve, fuel pulse dampener on the rail, make sure the fuel rail is snug and secure, and all other...

    Cold Water Leak

@KimberlyH, you have been given some good advice from @whtbronco and @acampinoob. Since you said you changed the heater control valve that shouldn’t be the suspect. And if it was you would see it leaking every time you run the engine, hot or cold. That component doesn’t leak from the vacuum line...

    Oil Filter Adapter Gasket Replacement

I have done this on my daughter’s 05 Town Car. You’ll 100% want to drain the coolant system. And I highly recommend draining the block from the side coolant plug. You want to make sure as much coolant is below the oil holes as possible. Otherwise you risk coolant getting into your oil pan. Then...

CYLINDER 1 MISFIRE ON COLD START

Strange indeed. Well at least it hasn’t returned. But if it does, do your best to look all over for fresh trails of liquid. Maybe even consider taking a photo of the area while it’s dry to use for comparison later to see if you can spot something.

CYLINDER 1 MISFIRE ON COLD START

@PNWEddieBauer, I would consider getting some Sea Foam Spray and trying that out to help remove carbon build up. That could be a problem as mentioned by @whtbronco. @blacktail, Cylinder one sits below the crossover tube on the intake manifold. This section is notorious for leaking due to the...

Cold snap, then fluid on the ground

Did the weather seem to have an impact this time?

    Looking for more power/speed

Add a centrifugal supercharger. Expeditions share a similar enough engine bay layout to a F-150. ‘Possibly’ best bang for the buck.

Cold snap, then fluid on the ground

Sounds like you may of had some contraction from the weather that may have caused some slight gapping in one of the seals. But this is only factoring the weather, can’t say without more information. But it is good to hear nothing has gotten worse. If it happens again I would suggest some photos...

    Looking for more power/speed

Not sure if going faster than 105 is a joke or serious. But making a brick move faster would require a loss of some weight. If you don’t need the middle row seats, take them out. Ensure your tires are properly inflated to reduce their drag. Ditch the clutch fan for an electrical fan. Remove the...

Timing set and a startup anomaly question

You definitely have a busy schedule ahead of you. Best of luck to you with all of that, hopefully repairs go smooth. Hope the health issues don’t get worse or hinder you too much.

Cold snap, then fluid on the ground

I agree with @whtbronco of using a white paper towel to 1st determine what fluid it is. My first thought was a rear main seal on the engine. Have you checked your oil and transmission fluid levels? This could also help you figure out what the fluid is.

Timing set and a startup anomaly question

Have you had a chance to perform the job? Curious to know your experience with either tool.

    Oil filter wrench

I also use a steel band wrench style similar to this one. It fits just well enough between the fan shroud and frame that I can get the filter to break loose. Once the filter has broken loose I remove the wrench and hand spin out. I think the design and placement isn’t the best for the space to...

Timing set and a startup anomaly question

That method could work, because you should see the valve and keeper sticking up as the spring continues to compress. So it is a safe way to test the theory before moving forward. The thing that is nice about that tool you have pictured is that you can do this job without worrying about...
