I was thinking of selling my 98 EB Expy and buying a new one. I do a lot of 4 wheel driving in very tough terrain (Breckenridge, CO). However, people have told me that the new Expy has gone soft and would be nowhere near as competent offroad.

I was told by my dealership, NOT to use synthetic oils in the Expedition. He said that there is an increased risk of gasket leaking if you did use synthetic oils and the engine is designed to use regular oils.
I have a 98 Eddie Bauer Expy and was wondering how you can tell if your shocks are leaking? The vehicle does feel a bit wallowy around the corners but I am not sure if it is my imagination and not fact the the shocks are leaking. This thread is very interesting if I do need to replace them.
