Why are 1st generation 5.4 Expeditions so reliable?

Good idle cold, low/stumble idle warm or hot
Sounds more like a vacuum leak somewhere. My PCV hose was cracked where it goes in under the IACV, did the same thing, idled fine cold, looped when warm, did you check the boot that the hose plugs into back there? That was my issue.- Bwhite

Vacuum leak - usual suspects?
Check the small vacuum lines right before they go into the firewall to your controls. Had the same problem with vents changing and that's where the leak was, bend the lines a little and visually inspect each one, mi e was cracked just enough to cause the problem but wasn't obvious at first look.- Bwhite
