    CDF around 3

You can negotiate with all dealers doing warranty work especially on big jobs where labor cost is the biggest factor. Yes the warranty may only cover labor and the cdf and housing parts but you can negotiate the reassembly using other new parts you purchase! In addition to this I highly...

    CDF around 3

Given I’m likely in the same boat soon 19 with 90,000. Like most car stuff I dig in and find the best fix I can especially when its a very well known issue with pretty much everyone facing the same issues. The updated CDF and clutch housing updated parts are essentially the low hanging fruit...

Transmission questions regarding Rebuilt or Re-manufactured

As for after market solutions? Generally I am 100% against non oem parts. In most cases non oem knock offs especially today with a flood of fake oem stuff causing pretty serious problems its something I would urge a high level of research and caution. Having said that the valve body factor as...

Transmission questions regarding Rebuilt or Re-manufactured

As for my on going transmission edu in preparation for the eventual rebuild. The 10spd has one major flawed part the cdf drum that has been updated with a lip machined into it to prevent the slip of a key bushing that prevents pressure loss and a drop out of gear effect. In addition to the...

Transmission questions regarding Rebuilt or Re-manufactured

Definitely something is off still that size trailer shouldn’t even register a temp change over 210-215 max. Over filling the transmission fluid can do exactly what you described with funky shifting and high temps. Venting transmission fluid under the truck?

Is an aftermarket intercooler really worth it for towing??

Oh climbing in 3rd -4th on the big stuff keeping rpms under 2100 seems to really help. Thats easily 35-40mph with the Semi’s doing their grind.

Is an aftermarket intercooler really worth it for towing??

I wonder if the fan on the intercooler would help keep temps down? 2019 Platinum heavy tow with all the same stuff as the current Tremor but I don’t think it has that extra fan thats part of the H.O version?

Is an aftermarket intercooler really worth it for towing??

The altitude vs max tow factor is definitely interesting. I crossed three passes between 5500-6000 on my long drag from Seattle to the Bay Area 840 mile run in End of July. We had 104 temps in Roseburg Oregon while climbing Grants Pass had all windows down front and back heaters blasting full...

Is an aftermarket intercooler really worth it for towing??

Great discussion, I just stumbled in after reading about 6.7 Diesel guys mangling their turbos during this cold snap. Apparently the 6.7’s maybe more so the 24’s and newer (intake difference?) are developing ice in the intake tube which is breaking off and being ingested into the turbo. Ford is...

    not having a good towing experience - 23' airsteam/5000lbs 500lb tongue weight

Unlike all the other posts. I’m going with trailer had issues not the Expedition.

New Here, trying to decide between a Tremor or a Platinum with SPP package. Help!

Several years living with the Platinum doing lots of active life style stuff. I would buy another loaded Platinum heavy tow again. I have a bench 2nd row. Haul kids a bunch for scouts, sports teams and cabin trips. Captain chair 2nd row would be so limiting it would literally render my uses...

    What's this terrible noise?

Toyota has had phaser issues also. By the way the phasers are made by a range of different parts manufacturers that all play games with materials being substituted in when costs jump or availability is slim. Its a huge issue across all auto companies continually getting sub par batches of parts...

    What's this terrible noise?

Phasers. Mine has done it for the last 35,000 miles after sitting 12-24hrs. Seems worse if parked nose high. Will probably have the warranty cover the Phasers and cdf drum rebuild around 100,000 miles. I’ll chip in for new timing chain parts and some new transmission parts to go back into it...

Looking for replacement 2nd row seats...

Looked into it back in 19. Found one guy that did it. Huge project very costly and still had issues with seat sensors. I found a bench Ex instead

    '19 Transmission Issues

Its a thing where the old faulty parts can fund their way back into vehicles when getting “repaired”. Especially if done early in the problem solving where parts availability are slim to none. Same thing was happening for a while with the phasers. The early phaser jobs simply used the same...
