Towing before 1000 miles
I thought that most car company ran the motors before they install them to for problems like that. Am I wrong?- dcmoss

thanks Thanks for the info. I did tow the trailer for 150 miles. I hope it couses no damage. I am going to try to put some good miles on the truck before I head to Colorado in two weeks. I should have close to 1000 miles on it by then. I didn't see anything in the manual that towing before...- dcmoss

The mannual suggest that you should wait 1000 miles before towing. What can happen to your truck if you don't wait the full 1000 miles to tow a trailer. Lets say you start towing at 200 miles? I recently purchased a new 2011 4 x 4 Expediton with the heavy tow package. I was towing my 4000 lbs. trailer and noticed that it doesn't have great pickup. I put the gas to the floor on a flat roadway and still got no noticable acceleration. I am planning a trip to Colorado in a few weeks...- dcmoss
