I (well local Ford shop) did mine a year ago at just over 200K and it ran about that. I did timing, one cam, plugs, oil pump. Soon after I also needed to do power steering hoses since they probably got flexed too much for a 15 year old vehicle. It does purr now and will keep it another 100K.
I can't remember if there was a code since it was a couple years ago, just throwing it out there that the symptoms were the same and possibly check those since it was fairly easy with a scan tool.
My son's F150 (2010) did that and it was the speed sensor. Forscan (and probably others) should be able to read those and tell you if that is the case.
I'm not driving much with the shoulder surgery, but did about 50 miles yesterday and no reoccurrence of the message and not pending now. Seems the flap was the issue and we'll see how long it works.
I probably did it 30 times with a few squirts of wd40. OEM funnel. I did clear the codes, not the dash reset button. That was when I asked since the pending was still there. Drive it last night (couple miles) and didn't get the message on the screen that time. Will see if code is pending now...
Got the fill tube message last Thursday and tried the wd40 and fuel fill funnel manipulation. Went in for rotator cuff surgery next day, so can't play with it a lot... Tried starting today and message still there. Did code reset, but still have message.
Anyone else have this and what was...
It has been a while, but had a similar issue on son's old Escape. Replaced alternator, looked good briefly, but same issue. Turns out new alternator didn't work correctly and had to be replaced again. ( See https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/alternator-charge-issue-on-escape.48898/ )

Son came over and fault showed up on the drive. Didn't turn off and used Forscan on son's truck and said RF wheel sensor fault. Did a drive and it showed no signal on the graph. Turned off truck and it worked fine, so it was staying intermittent and seems that once it declares the issue, quits...
Wheel speed sensors are available on forscan. Tested on my expedition and will try on his truck this weekend when he comes over. On mine all 4 match so I'll see what his look like.
I think forscan or OBD fusion is supposed to be able to read wheel speed sensor PIDs. Will see what we can find. I'll check resistance in sensors and see if we are getting any AC voltage out of them when spinning the wheels. If it is intermittent, will be a pain to diagnose.
No, his just started happening and there have been no changes. He can turn the truck off, and that sometimes resets the lights and then they may be off for 2 days or 2 miles. Drove about 250 miles last weekend each way. That was when light went on heading to destination and went off and stayed...
I don't trust the roof rack any more. I had 2 kayaks up there on J brackets and made a trip 3 hour each way. When I got home and unloaded mine and left the other one to take the 5 mile to my friends, it somehow collapsed the crossbar, which allowed it to rip the rack off the roof and have the...
