Nothing to worry about changing in between Group H6, H7 and H8 batteries on a Ford as long as you stay with AGM. Some older ECUs have to be adjusted, the newer ones do not! My old F150 3L BabyStroke had an H8 fitted from factory.
First thing I did to my SPP when I got it. TUrfed the H6 battery and put in an H8. I did nothing programming wise or BMS reset like it was with the 2018 models to my 24 SPP.
Just swap ‘er out and good is. Just make sure the battery is fully charged before you swap them. That’s it. I think I...
the broken wire could be more in the lift gate than in the body. Usually there is a fastener on each side and to 99% the broken wire is there somewhere. Unless someone did repairs to that hatch due to a collision or something and drilled or cut something (nicked a cable). What you can do first...
Pull on the boot, so it exposes the wires. Or take part of the ceiling down. A lot of things can pass voltage, even your fingers… but current is a different story. In this case you need real current draw, not a little test light.
Wrong tools. Make yourself a proper load. Take a rear tail light socked (tail light and brake) and get a 2 filament bulb with it. Solder some alligator leads or similar to that. I got mine from a junk yard.
Now you have a proper load. You can use only one filament or both at the same time to...
So what? If these cars had a brake controller, how hard can it be to retrofit it? I am just talking about the controller, not the back up pro crap that I have to use yet!?
Umm… I just looked. Here in Canada the trailer brake controller is CAD $438 and the dealer programs it. Nuttn special about it. Some dealer even advertise it.
It will not have the trailer backup pro crap, but just a factory brake controller with gain and a slider.
I think you need a different...
Correct. My trailer brake controller sits in that location. However, it comes combined with something called backup pro trailer asssist. That is another knob that sits above the brake controller. At least it is like that on my SPP with Sync4A (the big vertical display). Plus the HD trailer tow...
The TCM relearn only does the shifting in between gears. It wont do anything for P to D or P to R or D to R or R to D. Did you do a transmission fluid change and get the updated coolant thermostat so the transmission runs cooler?
Gonna be a very interesting ride if it sets itself to sumtin above 120mph. lol I better start watching YouTube and News Channels now!
And btw: I absolutely hate threads that start with a bare minimum one liner and do not explain anything at all. Waste of time and storage space on the server.
No surprise. As more things rotate, the more losses in the drivetrain there are going to be and extra energy is needed to make up for it.
Plain physics. Permanent AWD cars alsways have always worse fuel mileage than 2WD cars on dry/wet pavement.
For this situation being the opposite, then there...
