Brake job at 31K miles.
Ultimately, this is about your braking style, and perhaps even your preferred following setting on the ACC (if you have it). My 7000# diesel pickup could get 75K miles without a resurfacing / pad change. Heck...the rust would get to that stuff before the friction surfaces wore out. It seems...- Greg Parker

It's not really an "engine teardown." They basically have to take everything out of the front of the engine bay (might be able to leave the cooling stack in place). But that "phaser" is mounted on the end of the camshaft ...and both phasers, plus the tensioners and crankshaft sprocket is...- Greg Parker

Well that's awesome, but sure doesn't sound like the "norm." Pretty much everyone I've bantered with here and on FB (Expy FB groups), say that their 10-speed trans will run 225-235F when towing in harsh conditions. Fair enough ...but I've subjected mine to just about all road conditions, including some pretty rough forest roads in Northern Arizona. Just don't have any similar experiences. My buddy nearly ripped his off (of an F150) going down some pretty mundane two-tracks in an area that we hunt. The damn things steal nearly 2-inches of ground clearance. Clunking when vehicle is put into neutral
