Weird random burning smell, small leak?
That doesn't look too bad really. Do you notice a oil stain in your driveway where you park it? If you want to freshen up the seals you can get a bottle of that ATP-205 and pour it in the crankcase. It works very well to rejuvenate oil seals and gaskets, without harming the rest of the motor...- Hamfisted

Tailgate ajar alarm
The door ajar switch is integral to the door latch itself. You can replace it and fix it right for $100 . That's what I would do. Ford 7L1Z-7843150-D Liftgate Latch Assembly .- Hamfisted

Oil leak?
Yeah looks like it's just coming from the oil filter and running back. Clean the area off with some degreaser or carb cleaner spray and make sure your oil filter is snug and recheck it in a week or so to see if you can isolate the cause of the leak. Are you using a Motorcraft 820 filter ? .- Hamfisted

2003 5.4 no start, PCM issue?
Is the security LED flashing high speed when you try to start it ? That would indicate a PATs problem. Like it doesn't recognize the key. Pop the hood and move the PCM harness around and look for a loose wire in the harness, especially the red one that powers the PCM. Why did you hotwire the...- Hamfisted

Short Circuit?
The only thing directly behind the glovebox that might smoke is the AC blower and it's speed resistor or that harness plug to the resistor. But I don't know how your "aftermarket equipment" is wired in. Does your AC blower still function normally ? All speeds available ? .- Hamfisted

Converting Lighting to LEDs
You can replace your stock hazard flasher relay for an LED flasher relay to eliminate the hyperflash. The LED relay will work with either incandescent or LED bulbs.
