I've noticed this a few times recently but for some reason, when I need heat from the truck, my AC light will be on. It's not blowing cool air, but I still wouldn't think it should be running. It doesn't happen a lot, but it's happened enough that I noticed.

I found the factory code on a black box underneath the dash, passenger side, up against the fender wall (a little difficult to see because it's up there a little way).
The five digit code, plus "1", plus new code will get you set-up.
