All aftermarket speakers come with massive magnets on them so they need power to move the cone. I would suggest a speaker swap and amplifying them. Morel Maximo Ultra 602 and a Audio Control ACM 300.4 would work well in your truck. I can build you a custom signal harness to make everything plug...
You need to use an ignition source meaning a switch that only comes active once the key is turned. This would include windows, radio, air conditioner, etc. Any power source that stays on with the key out is not what you want to connect to.
I build custom plug and play harnesses for people on the F150 forums. I'm also a vendor and can help anyone here. Feel free to email me at [email protected]
You would need a signal wiring harness, amplifier, amplifier wiring kit, sub woofer, and enclosure. Please send me a DM here or better yet an email to [email protected]. Thanks for trusting me again with your truck!
Get a warranty replacement. Hot usually means something has shorted or is about to short. Overheat protection probably is what is turning it off and on again. If the truck super hot?
You might want to think about adding some sound deadener in the doors with that new found mid bass. I sell Second Skin Audio sound deadening products if interested.
