Idle problems
Had the same issue with my 2000, put new idle control valve on, inexpensive part and 10 minute installation. Fixed my issue. Good luck- John S

Do you trust your first gen?
Yes! Have 2000 Expy 5.4L, 208,500 miles, original owner. Only major issue in 19years was a cracked intake manifold. Repaired and runs as strong as ever. Make the purchase, dump the payments!- John S

End My Oil Crisis
Check your oil filter adapter gasket for leaks. I was losing a quart a week. Replaced at 201,000 miles. 2000 5.4L. Fixed my oil issue.- John S

Coolant Reservoir mini bubbles when revving
My 2000 EXP head gasket started leaking at 203000 miles. Used Bars headgasket sealant and all issues of blue smoke, coolant usage, milky oil cap and engine missing gone!! $48 fix vesus $2700 repair bill- John S
