One came from a 2014 Edge and one from a 2017 Taurus. Both have the same part number as the Expedition. Not sure what you mean by initialize before installing.
I will have to check that out. I was also thinking I could build something to detect the lock switch and "hit the fold button". I am an Electrical Engineer by trade. Fairly easy to design. Wouldn't cost as much as the door modules either.
I personally don't care about "Factory". I want it to work. I don't have money laying around to test my theory but would love to try. On a side note, I was also thinking of the auto mirror fold but it looks like that requires the DDM and PDM. I wonder if that would still work. The mirror...
I plan to run my own LED on the door trim. Mirror is way more money than I care to spend. I hope someone else will see these new posts and say do this and it will work. I am all ready in a couple hundred and don't want to give up.
I actually have a hard time believing that these modules are really that different from each other with the exception of connector type, module position, or radar configuration. I would think if you even used the DS7T, it should still work. (if the led is still driven by the pin and not a...
I have the DG1T for both. Actually the harness I used to install the modules comes from a 2010-2012 fusion but I had to rearrange the pins for proper pinout.
Added myself. I have even reverted to creating a breakout cable for both modules right at the OBD2 port just to make sure I didn't wire something stupid. Same results. BTW, the modules I have come from a 2017 Taurus and 2014 Fusion both have the same part number. I loaded the As Built data...
Thanks, I have that document and read it over a couple of times. I suppose it is possible the BCM needs bits activated but seems strange to me that you would need to do that. When you installed your modules into the Fusion, you could still see left and right before changing the BCM correct...
Sorry, When using forscan to display all the modules, I only see the SODR module. According to the wiring diagram, grounding pin 6 on the module should designate an SODR module and leaving pin 6 unconnected should designate an SODL module. What I am experiencing is with pin 6 grounded or not...
Under connector c4369 on your image, the circuit function for pin 1 says "ctrl mod. - actuator pedestrian...." and under c4370 pin 1 says "#N/A" but the pinouts for the wiring diagram show connections for the LED's in the mirror.
Any thoughts on my observations 1&2?
