You would be best off replacing the GEM. Also, you can do the brown wire mod to get rid of the 4x4 cutting in/out on its own- Kevmobile

Multiple failures at one time!
Have a new key made. Get 2 made for the hell of it. It is very rare that the ECM will fail on these. If anyrhing it would be your GEM that would fail. I got my keys from carandtruckremotes. Hamfisted, that is my next step here; however any vacuum leak I have dealt with has been the exact opposite as what I am experiencing here. With every vacuum leak I have encountered, it has been lean at idle and fine at a load. My issue is lean under a load and OK at idle..- Kevmobile

I just bought a 01 Navigator with 130k miles... Been stting since 2016. I just replaced the fuel pump with a Delphi unit. I did not drop/clean the tank. I am getting 171/174. car starting by itself is definitely GEM-related. Can you verify your build date (pre or post facelift) Have you verified there are no vacuum leaks at the actuator? You can use a disposible vape with a tube as a smoke machine to see. Also, have you verified 12V at the transfer case motor...- Kevmobile

Gary, I am going to disagree with you on your comment. Computers have come a long way, and arguably all of those failures you experienced are not very critical components of the vehicle. HELP - timing chain fell off
That's part of your phasor. For your chain to have that much slack the tensioners are shot. Fordtechmakuloco is your man for these 5.4 3V engines. From the picture, the chain is still on, DO NOT ROTATE THE ENGINE CCW. If this were my rig, I would take all timing components off and replace them...- Kevmobile

decat ur engine, installing a larger valance would yield better mpg. lowering your truck, regear your rear diff/front diff if u have one. unplugging the fuse for the front diff actuator would keep you in 2x4.- Kevmobile

That **** was awful, man but if you had power tools and honestly just break the majority of the plastic you'll be good. This was fixed with the correct blend door part. Get the OEM Motorcraft unit or Dorman.. Mine is some knockoff and didnt have full range of motion- Kevmobile
