What oil are you using
Guess who makes Motorcraft oil? ConocoPhillips. Guess what other brand ConocoPhillips makes? Kendall Oil. Kendall oil has a better additive package than MC for less cost. I use Kendall GT 1 full synthetic 5W 30 in my 2000 Expy and I have over 250,*** miles.- Machete

Beauties. I love my 2000 EB. 250k miles and runs perfect and garage kept. If I ever need replace I’ll look for another one. Great reliable trucks with tons of torque.- Machete

Why do people keep buying these land yachts with VVT designs? There's plenty of examples of Ford engines needing repetitive cam phaser jobs. Its a well known defect, and Ford could give two ***** about it except to ward off a class action. They try to squeeze every MPG out of a teeny V6 with...- Machete

2023 expeditions 10k under MSRP
Yeah well when they relist their ridiculous MSRP maybe I'll consider selling my ole 1st gen with 248,*** miles....then again I don't really want to pay for a VVT rebuild after 60k miles.- Machete

The dreaded front passenger clicking noise
Installed new Motorcraft exhaust manifold, got it for $65 at some dealership in central Florida online. Purchased stainless steel hardware, and also metal gaskets vs the standard. This I'm sure will hold much better. Sounds nice and quiet.- Machete

What to look for when buying a gen3 expy
My brother has a 2018 F150. At 80k he had to do the entire cam phaser /oil pump job. My issue is the VVT design by Ford sucks.- Machete

2018 Expedition Transmission overfilled by Dealer and resulting issues
I service my truck at a Ford performance shop. They do race mustangs, have a in-ground dyno, fiberglass fabrication shop etc. They do rebuilds every day and are very familiar with the VVT issues i.e cam phasers etc with Fords 5.4's and 3.5's.
